Art of a Champion: Nike Reveal Colossal NBA Playoffs Basketball Collection
…And we thought All-Star offering was huge! The Swoosh have announced the 'Art of a Champion' collection, commemorating some of the most legendary plays and players in NBA Playoffs history. The collection consists of 16 shoes, representing the number of wins required to secure the Championship.
The first three to release are a Kawhi Leonard-inspired 'Pass the Torch, a ' Rasheed Wallace High 'Rude Awakening,' a Julius Erving Converse 'The Scoop', and a 'Final Seconds' — in honour of the Black Mamba himself.
In May we'll see a Kevin McHale 'No Easy Buckets', a Scottie Pippen 'Trifecta', a Bill Russell Converse '30 and 40', a Maya Moore 'Rook to Queen', a Wes Unseld Converse 'Intangibles', a Moses Malone Air Force 1 Low 'Fo' Fi' Fo', a Ray Allen 'Locked and Loaded', and a '25 Straight'.
Coming in June are the Kevin Durant 'Battle Tested', as well as a retro of Michael Jordan's immortal 'Last Shot' — the latter of which will release on June 14, the same day MJ secured victory for the Bulls in '99.
Rounding out the collection are a 'Gold Standard' , inspired by the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy, and a mystery shoe that 'will be defined by this year's NBA Champion.' Both will be released following the Championship in June.
The 'Art of a Champion' collection will release gradually from April 14 through to June, when the Championship is decided. Check back for release dates for your favourite make-ups.
