A$AP Rocky’s PUMA Inhale Gets Another Tank of Gas
Tapping style savant was no doubt one of the more astute business decisions made by recently. Linking up with the Big Cat for a blistering Formula 1 collection the 35-year-old rapper dug deep in the PUMA archive to resurrect the Inhale, the first-ever footwear collaboration between Flacko and the sportswear brand. Originally launched in 2000 as a running shoe, the left-field visuals now slot nicely into the Y2K sneaker trend for the fashion vanguard once again in 2024. The debut collaboration between Rocky and PUMA exhumed the OG Inhale colourway, and the latest edition is a distressed iteration that would’ve looked right at home in the rapper’s latest music video.
Capitalising on the scuffed-up sneaker trend ubiquitous across luxury brands ( we’re looking at you), the collaboration looks like it’s already burned a few laps around the next Formula 1 circuit in Azerbaijan. Featuring black splotches reminiscent of oil stains, the brown and tan edition actually incorporates brand new ‘Flacko’ branding on the tongues, a visual we’ll most likely see moving forward in upcoming collaborations. In terms of materials, the Inhale is manufactured with ultra breathable mesh uppers (hence the name), with overlays of scuffed leather and suede throughout. In the engine room down below, the midsole is infused with CMEVA foam.
The latest A$AP Rocky x PUMA Inhale will pull up at PUMA and select retailers on September 26. For more on the PUMA’s long-standing relationship with Formula 1, make sure to check out our in-depth feature .
