Deep Drip: ASICS’ GEL-Kayano 14 Surfaces in Fresh Colours

In 2023, ASICS’ Gel-Kayano 14 continues to be one of the more popular models in the Japanese label’s extensive catalogue. Buoyed by the success of collaborations with the likes of JJJJound and Ice Studios, the Kayano 14 is loading the shelves in plenty of colourways that exalt its Y2K aesthetics.

The latest design to hit the shelves is a ‘Midnight/Pure Silver’ combination perfect for the looming warmer weather (in the Northern Hemisphere). Crafted in a mix of ocean blues and metallic silvers, the model implements all the classic design DNA that continues the silhouette’s popularity today. Mirroring the OG midsole tooling with GEL technology cushioning, the layered leather and mesh construction from 08 was notably the first shoe in the Kayano series designed by someone other than godfather Toshikazu Kayano.

Replete with all the bells and whistles of the ASICS R+D team, the Kayano’s sockliner is now produced with a solution dyeing process that reduces water usage by 33 per cent and carbon emissions by approximately 45 per cent.
