The ASICS GEL-NYC Gets Four Versatile Colourways

ASICS continue to turn heads in 2023, and the GEL-NYC is just one example of how the sportswear brand perfectly blend style and comfort. The Y2K-inspired sneaker continues to drop in colourways that can both make a statement or keep it on the subtle side.

The GEL-NYC blends ASICS’ storied history, bringing it into one sneaker. The upper takes from two ASICS sneakers of the past, the GEL-Nimbus 3 and MC-Plus V, using a tried and true mesh/suede makeup that brings breathability, durability and style to the sneaker. ASICS also taps into the archives for the tooling, taking from the Cumulus 16 and using visible GEL cushioning in the forefoot and heel to bring stability and all-day comfort.

The GEL-NYC’s design and colour blocking opens the sneaker to innovation and imaginative colourways, and the four new iterations are no exception. The 'Cream/Oatmeal' colourway uses a subtle take on the upper as the dandelion and red midsole draws your eyes, blending subtlety and variance. Pastel tones are not shy on the 'Cream/Aquamarine' colourway with a sage green midsole and metallic silver accents that lean into the Y2K theme. 

The 'Oatmeal/Forest' colourway gives bolder colours, with brick red suede and deep green dressing the GEL-NYC in a range of textures. The final colourway gets darker, with a 'Midnight Blue' flooding the upper, although there is a pop of bright green seen on the ASICS branding and shank plate.
