With an upper pulled from the 2000s GEL-Nimbus 3 and further archival detail courtesy of the 90s MC-Plus V, the GEL-NYC takes from decades of ASICS' design in a way that makes it stand out from the crowd. The bottom half hosts midsole tooling from the performance-geared Cumulus 16, with ASICS’ signature GEL visible on the forefoot and heel. Designed to channel Y2K vibes with a touch of modern flair, the Japanese brand’s latest sportstyle behemoth successfully reflects the spirit of New York City.
Boasting crisp colour palettes and flowing with archival energy, ASICS’ GEL-NYC has managed to take over streets in The Big Apple and beyond. Kicking off the new batch is the ‘Ivory/Clay Grey’, hosting a full grey and white base layer alongside black overlays and a multi-tone sole unit, giving off a uniquely NY vibe.
