Austin Reaves and Rigorer Announce Signature Basketball Shoe AR1
Rising NBA star Austin Reaves has taken the next step in his partnership with global performance brand , with the announcement of their first signature shoe. The Los Angeles Lakers player and Chinese sportswear brand Rigorer aim to provide high-quality basketball shoes without the hefty price tag.
The AR1 will launch in a pastel pink and blue ‘Ice Cream’ colourway, with a design that blends the latest performance technology with Reaves’s basketball journey. Reaves states that the ‘AR1 is all about maximising performance and efficiency on the court’. Some of the highlights include a first-of-its-kind bubble lacing system that is designed to eliminate lace bite, a ShowTime tech foam midsole for players who like a low cut but still want immediate energy return, and heel TPU to enhance stability when landing and prevent ankle injuries.
On the aesthetic side, the shoe boasts a woven cocoon upper that aims to represent Reaves’s continuous growth and a splattered colour pattern that starts in the centre of the shoe and bleeds outwards. The pair will come in a bespoke box with two pairs of matching performance socks.
