Available Now: The MoMA x Vans Collection is Pure Artistry
Californian skate stalwarts have drawn inspiration from fellow masters of the canvas – Salvador Dalí, Wassily Kandinsky and Claude Monet – linking with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) for a special collection celebrating the diversity of the institution’s artworks.
Featuring five classic silhouettes, the collection is a visual masterpiece, with three of the selections drawing on key elements from the legendary artists.
Salvador Dalí’s surrealist works provide a muse for a Vans Old Skool Twist, which has been ‘twisted’ to go beyond the perception of reality. Meanwhile, the work of Kandinsky, a pioneer of abstract art, can be seen in a covered with abstract forms and signs. Rounding out the series is an inspired by Claude Monet, blessed with a blue impressionist upper design.
Additionally, a MoMA-themed and complete the collection. Each wears bold MoMA branding, with a vibrant checkerboard pattern adding a familiar, yet fresh touch to each.
