Update December 22, 2023: During Nike's recent SNKRS Live event, Awake NY's Brand Director, Hugo Mendoza, hinted that a collaboration between the streetwear stalwarts and Jordan Brand will drop in 2024. Could this be the Nike Air Ship? Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.

The Nike Air Ship has been getting a fair amount of love from the Jumpman as of late. Whether that’s collaborations with A Ma Maniere or new in-line takes on the MJ-worn silhouette, it’s just the tip of the iceberg regarding how versatile and unique the Air Ship can be. An example is Awake NY’s take on the sneaker, which was on display at Awake’s flagship store opening.

Hung from the ceiling at Awake’s new flagship store in the Lower East Side in Manhattan, the Air Ship features a mismatched look, using red and blue faux snakeskin on the ankle collars, respectively, as well as the hues outlining the silver Swooshes. The pair shares white leather used on the upper with Nike Air branding stamped on the heel and the Wings logo debossed on the lateral side of the ankle collar, a deviation from the OG. Awake’s A logo is on the mudguard’s lateral side, with a sail midsole and gum outsole finishing off the sneaker.

A release date for the Awake NY x Nike Air Ship is still unknown, but expect the collaborative sneaker to drop sometime later this year via Awake’s and Nike’s channels, respectively. Keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for any updates.
