First Look: Bad Bunny x adidas Taekwondo ‘Ballerina Shoe’
Puerto Rican rapper has become one of the more prolific collaborators in recent years. With several models already under his belt (including the highly anticipated adidas Indoors ), the latest remix reportedly involves the adidas Taekwondo ‘Ballerina Shoe’. Spotted on Bad Bunny while out on the town with love-interest Kendall Jenner during Paris Fashion Week, you’d be forgiven for thinking these were a pair of the ubiquitous Gazelles. But on closer inspection, you’ll see a few key differences.
As reported by Sneaker News, the upcoming collaboration utilises the adidas Taekwondo as the base model, with Bad Bunny adopting a subdued, sophisticated palette to convey the ballerina theme.
First introduced in 2019, the adidas Taekwondo took inspiration from several models in the adidas archive. Typically featuring a narrow, durable canvas with distinct rubber outsoles, the slip-on model utilises an elasticated vamp for support. TAEKWONDO branding also appeared – usually in gold – on the lateral heels. Importantly, the adidas Taekwondo was a remastered iteration of the YY MEI created by Y-3 collaborator back in 2002.
No official word yet on potential release dates, but make sure to keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
