BAIT X Dreamworks X Diadora S8000 (Kung Fu Panda)
In just a few short years west coast retailer have established themselves as a collaboration heavyweight – thanks to a string of releases since 2011 when they officially opened. Following their , this latest joint-project with Dreamworks is a playful take on the silhouette that no-one was expecting!
Using the animation studio's Kung Fu Panda franchise as the theme, BAIT transforms the vintage Italian trainer with a unique monotone ponyhair treatment. The result is a panda-like appearance that is quite different to the more grown-up 'Made in Italy' N.9000 release from February. Instead, the furry upper is comparable to their ' from 2015 – another project with a movie studio. While the Reebok might have been a bit too cuddly for some sneakerheads to pull off, the clean colour-blocking of the S8000's upper and complementing midsole makes this fuzzy offering more wearable.
According to reports, this sneaker is part of larger collection (yet to be revealed) to celebrate the and the first time the competition will be held in North America. We're not quite sure what a cartoon, an Italian sportswear company and a sneaker retailer have to do with any of this – but nevertheless – expect more to come from this trio!
