BAIT X Gi Joe X New Balance 710 (Roadblock)

Sneaker design collaborators have been biting the style of their favourite movies, cartoons and cereals for aeons. Tapping into the aesthetic of pop culture paragons makes sense, because the designs are likely to be gobbled up by fans of the franchises concerned but can also stand alone as exceptional colourways. Most colab releases circumvent doling out doe to their inspirations by not explicitly name dropping them or using logos, but have manned up and are paying homage to the creators of GI Joe with this latest colab.

They've inked a licensing deal with Hasbro and will launch two GI Joe-themed shoes, the 'Cobra Commander 574' and the 'Roadblock 710'. Here we see the Roadblock, which features a laser etched digi desert camo treatment, with a speckled blue outsole the foundation for a red and white midsole. Those colours translate to good old American patriotism, so you know these would be popular in The Pit.
