BEAMS and New Balance 1000s? Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn You

When it comes to intentional mismatched designs, you could say that Japanese label certainly knows its stuff. After teaming up with on a pair of , the Japanese brand is back with a fresh minimalist rework of the retro 1000 model.
Taking on a bold, monochromatic approach the classic 1999 runner, the colab blends different materials for a unique patchwork effect. What this means is that one shoe features textured mesh underlays with suede overlays, while the other boasts a glossy leather panel that contrasts the microfibre foundation underneath. What's more, adding to the offbeat aesthetic, the 'N' logos on each shoe are slightly different, each with its own 3D finish.
Despite everything from the uppers to the cushioned soles being dressed in bold black, BEAMS adds a futuristic edge with reflective laces. The co-branded logos on the insoles complete the look, done in the brand's signature colour scheme.
The BEAMS x New Balance 1000 will drop at the on Thursday, April 10. Following the US launch, the pair will be available via the BEAMS webstore and select retail locations.
