More specifically, the shoe references the silky-smooth souvenir jackets picked up by marines following their tour of duty in the Far East. A blacked-out, quilt-stitched upper wrapped in suede takes centre stage, while intricately detailed embroideries of a snarling tiger and a kanji symbol for happiness take pride of place on the heels.
