Better™ Gift Shop Bring Blue Beauty to the Vans Vault Style 36 and Half Cab

Avi Gold’s impressive laundry list of pioneering moves across the street/skate/sneaker/music/basically everything scene is one that warrants spending an entire afternoon on Google, so let’s reserve this space for his latest project with the Vans Vault via his Better™ Gift Shop venture. Two editions of the Style 36 and Half Cab have been reworked in sweet shades of blue and grey suede, adding a classy finish to the skate- and street-ready classics.

The Style 36 is essentially an archival predecessor to the modern-day Old Skool, but the upper panels are slightly different. Better™ Gift Shop apply alternating colour-blocking with the blue suede running through the midfoot, tongue, and ankle collar, while the grey coats the toe box, eyestays, and heel counter. This is matched tonally to the shoelaces and rubber midsole.

Meanwhile, the Half Cab follows similar colouring conventions, but its mid-cut height uses a bit more grey, which is also featured on the tongue. The grey metal eyelet contrasting against the blue eyestays is a nice touch. As are the insole graphics displaying Better™ Gift Shop’s storefront.

Both shoes are finished with Vans UltraCush insoles, branded aglets, and custom shoeboxes. The collaboration releases at Better™ Gift Shop’s webstore on November 28.
