Big Baller Brand Gives Youngest Son First Signature Model
The youngest member of the clan has become the first high schooler to have his own signature sneaker. Say what you will about BBB, but that’s an impressive milestone to lay claim to.
Named the MB1, the model is a slim-fitting, low-profiled baller with heat-bonded uppers and what looks to be a neoprene tongue. It’s likely modelled to perform like the , which Melo is often seen in, but sneakerheads are quick to point out its resemblance to Rare Metal offering. In fact, the midsole on the MB1 looks to be exactly the same – right down to the textured finish. The camo colourway also takes after a Rare Metal, but it's been tweaked slightly. It’s one of those ‘you can copy my homework if you make it look like your own’ moments in the sneaker industry, and BBB seems to have put aside originality in order to make a submission date.

If you like the model, or just support the Ball family’s drive does, then you’ll be pleased to know the MB1 won’t be as hard on the pocket as the ZO2. Coming in at $395 USD, the shoe is a 100 bucks cheaper than Lonzo’s sneaker and a (small) step towards a more affordable line of footwear for BBB.
