The Billy’s x Reebok ‘Train Pack’ is Inspired by the Tokyo Metro System

Out now at Japanese boutique Billy’s is a collaborative collection with Reebok dubbed the ‘Train Pack’, which bases its colour scheme on the sprawling rail system running throughout the store’s native Tokyo. Consisting of the Classic Leather Legacy AZ and Victory G, these colourful kicks are full of details to take in.

Starting with the CL Legacy AZ, its multiple panels best express the ‘Train Pack’ story, as each accent is a different hue to correspond with the nine routes of the Tokyo Metro system. It just so happens that ‘Train Pack’ is exactly nine letters too! Atop the Aztec’s OG blue base is a mixture of neon orange, yellow, navy, and grey, among other colours, all presented in an asymmetrical arrangement. The insole colours are also mismatched across the pair.

Meanwhile, the Victory G is a bit less overtly about the Tokyo Metro, but it does lean heavily on Billy’s brand colour of dark navy, which covers most of its upper. The accenting orange is a reference to the Ginza Line, which starts at Shibuya, where Billy’s is based, while the maroon stripes are likely a nod back to the Victory G’s original colourway. There is also a practical feature in a GORE-TEX liner, which definitely comes in handy for daily commuters.
