Japanese Anime Bleach Heroed on the ASICS GT-2160 and GEL-NYC

are no stranger to collaborations with anime and comics, hitting the ASICS with a in May, as well as the collection more recently. Now the Japanese brand is linking up with Bleach, an anime that is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, on a pack featuring the and GEL-NYC.

The GT-2160 pays tribute to the main character Ichigo Kurosaki who is known for his bright orange hair and black and white attire. The colourway complements his aesthetic perfectly, with a white base that is marred by slashes of grey. The black of his robe comes through on the overlays, toe panel, top part of the tongue, sock liner and laces. Lastly, a bright orange hits the accents along with small red strikes throughout. His name is debossed onto the lateral side of the right side in Japanese characters as well.

As for the GEL-NYC, the colour scheme is inspired by Renji Abarai, who wears a similar robe to Ichigo but has flaming red hair that is clearly displayed in the design of the colab. Where the Ichigo iteration is shiny and sleek, Renji’s is soft and textured. The red is the hero, complemented by smooth peach and furry black accents. His name in Japanese is also printed on the lateral side, but this iteration also features symbols of the 6th Division of the Goeti 13 on the heels.

The Bleach x ASICS GT-2160 and GEL-NYC pack doesn’t have an official release date, but it is expected that they will land at Foot Locker over the Christmas holidays this year. It is also rumoured that a small number will be available during New York’s Comic Con this weekend.
