Oakley relaunched into the sneakersphere last year when they brought back their footwear branch, Oakley Team Factory. Their re-introduction came with help from Brain Dead, with the duo delivering collaborative trail and lifestyle shoes paired with eyewear. They’re now dropping the second instalment of their fall/winter line-up, which includes bringing back their ‘Oakley Nail Mid’ boot. But it's not a direct retro, as they've given it an updated tooling and a new title: ‘Edge Boot'.

The boot headlines the colab’s ‘Flesh Pack’ collection and fuses offroad rigour with finesse by reimaging a noughties vintage trail silhouette. Released in the early 2000s, the 'Oakley Nail Mid' was a tough and reliable hiking boot for rural navigation. The return of the boot takes a more hybrid approach, with a revised sole unit that is borrowed from the previous Oakley Team Factory x Brain Dead silhouette, the Chopsaw. But while the 'Edge' lifts its underfoot support technology, it doesn’t sacrifice the blended nubuck upper construction. The technical build consists of neoprene lining with a rubber outsole providing comfort and function, and the tongue is adorned with Oakley’s iconic logo on the tongue.

Dropping in two colourways, the 'Edge Boot' will arrive alongside new colour treatments of the Oakley Flesh sandal and slip-on from the ‘Flesh Pack.’ This pair is due for release on December 5 via Brain Dead and Oakley outlets, as well as select third-party retailers.
