Vans Tap Brain Dead for Mind-Melting Slip-On and Authentic

Protect your neural pathways! Brain Dead are back with another mind-melting collaboration with Vans!​

The third link-up between both brands (Brain Dead and Vans previously teamed up in 2017), the latest models to get the nod are the Classic Slip-On LX and OG Authentic LX. Harnessing Brain Dead's signature effervescent energy, the sneakers both feature reworked versions of the classic Vans checkerboard pattern, this time remixed as BD's indelible head graphic. The psychedelic aesthetic extends to the midsoles, where sludgy, retro-futurist branding is stamped on each sneaker.

Why the Authentic and Slip-On? The answer is simple: The team at Brain Dead were inspired by both models' timeless and practical design DNA.

Celebrating the inimitable spirit of California’s skate culture whilst stamping their own unique, experimental flavour, the L.A. creative collective have grown to become one of the most unique voices in footwear. As described on their website, ‘Brain Dead is not one person, nor is it one idea. It sits in the space between people.’
