Launch Details: Bricks & Wood x New Balance 1906U 'Echoes of a Butterfly'
Founded by Kacey Lynch in 2014, the LA-based label have been turning plenty of heads on the footwear front. Recently connecting with New Balance on the the team at Bricks & Wood are now teasing their upcoming New Balance collaboration, the COO Dani Barraza today sharing the first images via social media.
As part of the teaser carousel, Barraza also shared an image of the Madagascan Sunset Moth, which evidently serves as the central inspiration for the upcoming project. A day-flying moth native to Madagascar, the insect is one of the most spectacular and brightly coloured moths in the world. Known for its iridescent scales that reflect a wide spectrum of colour, the moth exhibits rainbow-like patches of colour on its wings, which can range between 7 to 9 cm.
These radiant hues are adopted for the Bricks & Wood New Balance 1906, which sees black mesh uppers combined with gradated multicoloured overlay panels throughout. The shoe is also features a toggle lacing setup, while the Bricks & Wood logo are stamped on the heels.
Of course, the New Balance 1906R has become de rigueur for collaborators in recent years. The silhouette has been tapped by everyone from to and continues to drive the market for New Balance thanks to its sonic, tech-laden Y2K visuals (characteristics that also made the 2002R reboot so successful).
