BYO Patina for the atmos x adidas UltraBOOST DNA
Bet you didn’t see this one coming. Japan’s have linked up with for an all-white remake of the venerable silhouette with some conspicuous modifications. Proving they haven’t pigeonholed themselves to exclusively using animal patterns for their collaborations, the blank execution is actually something they’ve .
What is different for this UltraBOOST is the fact it’s missing its usual external plastic lace cage that doubles as the Three Stripes branding. Rather, the eyelets are punched and embroidered directly into the UB’s Primeknit uppers to integrate the laces, which can also effectively make these wearable laceless. However, this isn’t the first instance of this mod. Solebox did it at the height of UB mania, so this new release revisits a connoisseur-friendly colab. Instead of just rehashing Solebox’s idea, atmos add their own touch with screenprinted adidas branding on the lateral midfoot, and swap in flat woven laces. And, it’s not 100 per cent white – some mild contrast comes through on the light grey Continental rubber outsole.
All that’s needed now is for this colab to hit the streets and pick up some grime, because no two pairs will look the same. Releasing via adidas Australia on November 15, but expect global availability around the same time too.
