Meet the Carpet Company x Vans Old Skool 36+

Two heavy-hitter skate brands, and Carpet Company, have joined forces to create a twist on the classic that has been dubbed the Skate Old Skool 36+. The upgraded design took on modern features and premium materials while retaining the spirit of the OG 1977 model it’s paying homage to.

There are two iterations of the Old Skool 36+, with the mustard yellow and black pair taking after the original debut colourway of the Style 36. The second, limited to F&F, features a red, white and blue make-up with an aged sole for good measure. But the colours aren’t the only defining factor, as faux croc skin has been incorporated alongside suede on both pairs to give the design some serious texture and depth. The performance specs on the collaborative iteration are just as loud as the aethetics, with impact-absorbing PopCush™ insoles, high-traction Sickstick™ rubber outsoles, and rugged Duracap™ overlays making them more than skateable.

The mustard Old Skool 36+ is releasing on January 9 via Vans Checkerboard Union, with only 1977 pairs up for grabs – in a reference to the OG release year.
