Get Wavy with Casablanca’s Debut Sneaker, the Atlantis
Paris fashion house have announced their first in-house sneaker design, dubbed the Atlantis. Named after the famed lost city, this model draws on the waves and water that washed the exotic locale into mysterious depths.
This ‘shockingly beautiful’ design by Casablanca founder Charaf Tajer and art director Steve Grimes taps into the delicate balance of ‘harmonising nature and architecture’. This is expressed by the rippled and wavy sole unit and satisfying arrangement of the perforated leather upper. This aesthetic certainly acts as a spiritual successor to the brand’s previous sneaker collaborations, further evident by the contrasting suede overlays and luxury materials. The launch colourway accents of blue and red also certainly evoke some classic sportswear motifs, which is further evident in the custom ‘Casa Sport’ grosgrain woven label on the side.
The Casablanca Atlantis will release exclusively at Casablanca on November 16, followed by a global launch at select retailers on November 18.
