Comme des Garcons PLAY x Converse Chuck 70s Meet Colour

The ‘Converse with the hearts’, officially known as the Comme des Garcons PLAY x Converse Chuck 70, is back with all-new colour palettes. Usually rendered in basic black or white canvas finishes, this is a rather daring deviation from these safe editions. The next drop of this meme sneaker turned undeniable cultural icon sees oceanic ‘Blue Quartz’ and Zoolander ‘Steel Grey’ hues hit the Heart Shoe.

As per previous releases over the past decade, CdG PLAY make minimal intervention with the Converse classic. The Chuck 70 is a premium spec of the seminal basketball model, which uses heavier canvas and thicker cushioning per the earlier 1970s manufacture. CdG add their subtle touch beyond the XL lateral heart logo with contrast heel tape and tonal heel plates. Aforementioned are the new colour options, which will be available in both high- and low-cut options.

However, this isn’t the first time CdG and Converse played with pigments. Brown and olive editions have occasionally popped up every other season, and neon versions dropped not too long ago. All the more reason why this was the most influential sneaker of the last decade.
