Comme des Garçons SHIRT, part of the encompassing CDG umbrella, have continued their partnership with ASICS by releasing four unique takes on the GEL-Lyte V. This model has somewhat fallen out of favour in recent years, so it’s cool to see the label pay attention to an important model from their fellow Japanese company’s offerings.

All four pairs are based around a black and white palette, with corresponding editions reversing their panel layout. This sees two relatively straightforward options with solid colour-blocking that creates a stark two-toned look across the GL5’s standard microfibre and nylon upper. For more adventurous sneakerheads, there’s two wilder versions that use the same arrangement, but are finished with a very loud leopard or cheetah pattern over the entire shoe – down to the midsole. Comme des Garçons SHIRT branding appears on the lateral midsole heel to complete the colab.

The caveat with CDG colabs is they often command a considerable premium over GR versions of the same shoe.
