DC Shoes ‘Serves the Sauce’ With Fresh Shanahan Pro Colourway
Back in July, Pennsylvania-based skater John Shanahan released his signature silhouette with dubbed the Shanahan Pro. Following the debut colourway, it’s just been announced that a brand new iteration will be hitting shelves this August.
Shanahan worked closely with the design team when building his pro model, stating ‘My goal was to create a shoe that fits the late 90s/early 2000s DC aesthetic but was also entirely new’. He did this by studying his favourite DC models from years past, such as the Howard 2, LYNX and Legacy, later adding his own flair. ‘The main focus was style and performance. I really wanted to make something that would stand the test of time and still be wearable/skateable in 20+ years.’
To ensure the latest board-ready sneaker paid homage to the brand’s long legacy and rich skate archive, the Shanahan Pro boasts classic DC design language, reminiscent of many heritage models. While keeping a classic vibe, DC Shoes included skate-ready tech, like a stabiliser-injected TPU detachable strap, EVA heel cradle and an impact-resistant sole.
The latest Shanahan Pro colourway has been doused in a crisp red/white combo and can be copped from the DC Shoes webstore on August 12.
