deadHYPE Team with adidas For An All-Black, GORE-TEX Lined ZX 8000
You're probably used to seeing ' classic in bright, festive colourways – after all, its most well-known makeup is the undeniably vibrant 'Aqua'. However, Berlin-based outfit deadHYPE have flipped that colour narrative on its head with their latest ZX 8000 colab: an ultra-dark iteration that's stark, sleek and lined with a waterproof membrane.
There's no standard mesh to be found here: the shoe's upper is made from black suede and overlaid with supple black leather, a vast departure from 2020's deadHYPE x adidas ZX 8000 'Thanos'. The most notable of these leather pieces is the one on the midfoot that replaces the ZX 8000's standard Three Stripe graphic. Things are mostly kept muted, but there is some extra flair provided by high-gloss black plastic on the heel clip and the eyestays, a carbon fibre heel detail and just a touch of black patent leather below the throat.
Quite unlike most GORE-TEX sneakers, there doesn't seem to be any visible GTX branding here. However, there is a leather collar lining and a minimalistic tongue tag, plus a recognisable midsole with a Torsion bar and two extra sets of laces for sneakerheads who want to add a pop of flair to their pair.
A raffle for the deadHYPE x adidas ZX 8000 GORE-TEX is open on END. now and will close on March 4. The MSRP is set at $135.
