Eames and Reebok Officially Announce Monumental Club C Colab
are honouring the legacy of influential industrial design duo Charles and Ray Eames via a collection of collaborative colourways. This release has been a very long time in the making, and after various integral members of the project began flaunting their Friends and Family pairs on Instagram, the rest of us will finally have a chance at the GR – but still very limited – edition.
Eames Office have been responsible for some of the most recognisable (and imitated) pieces of furniture, toys and other domestic paraphernalia. As such, they chose an equally timeless design in the Reebok Club C, which has been painstakingly restored to exacting detail. For example, find more-precisely trimmed corners on the lateral branding windows, and original tongue labels that wrap over the tongue seam, as opposed to two separate pieces sewn in. Embellishing simple all-white and all-black colourways in this ‘Monotone Pack’ is the Eames typeface on the aforementioned branding window and tongue label, plus insole graphics.
The graphics extend to the shoebox, which is modelled on the iconic Eames House, aka Case Study House No. 8, that the couple lived in for the remainder of their lives. Accessories include alternative shoelaces with the Eames typeface repeated along the length.
The Eames x Reebok Club C collaboration kicks off with the ‘Monotone Pack’ releasing on October 15 via the Eames Office and Reebok websites, followed by a wider release on October 21.
