END. and adidas Go ‘Social Cycling’ in the Velosamba
Cycling and sneaker culture overlap once again with the imminent arrival of the x Velosamba ‘Social Cycling’. Designed for casual situations both on and off the bike, these easy riders can still put the power down in sprints for the nearest town sign.
The Velosamba has so far largely served utilitarian functions and subsequently delivered no-nonsense colourways. END.’s predilection for the finer things benefits the model in elevating it to something that can be worn après cyclo, which is achieved by specifying suede sourced from the Charles F Stead tannery in neighbouring Leeds. These lush panels are offset by crisp white leather uppers and contrasting stripe branding; one edition goes autumnal in tan while the other goes shades-of-green. Heritage cycling touches are found on the perforated tongue and, of course, the performance aspect is preserved by way of the recessed forefoot plate that houses fittings for two-bolt pedal cleat systems. This means the shoes can stay on during the pre-ride espresso and post-ride pint without clopping about like a horse on rollerskates.
Raffles for the END. x adidas Velosamba ‘Social Cycling’ are open now ahead of an April 29 launch.
