Familiar Suede Shades Drape the New Balance 577
For anyone who’s been into sneakers for longer than most, these new 577s have a striking resemblance to a rare Hanon colab from 2007: the M577WIC, aka ‘Wigan’. Of course, it’s not a one-to-one replication of the navy/white/red suede colourway, but the colour combo is still present. Here, navy suede still wraps the heel counter and toe bumper, which is matched at the upper ankle band.
Instead of perforated suede toe boxes, this 577 subs in breezy white mesh and ankle collars. Elsewhere, grey suede mid panels balance the colourway, and red ankle tabs add a bright pop. And, as it’s been noted many times before, the UK made New Balance range has some of the most luxuriously soft microfibre lining out there. All this sits on the standard issue two-tone ENCAP midsoles.
The New Balance 577 M577GWR is available now directly from New Balance.
