Jerry Lorenzo Teases Luxe Version of the adidas Jabbar High
partnership with adidas looks like it’s finally getting into its flow state after a series of hiccups and spasmodic starts. The Basketball II finally in December with the help of Chicago’s favourite child, and the performance shoe has already been laced by several players on court. Fear of God Athletics have also been busy with the next generation of hoops talent, their very own team to the Overtime Elite league, a basketball competition that aims to foster new pathways for talented young kids across the US.
Now, Jerry Lorenzo’s crew are turning their attention to the adidas vault, providing their own remix to the adidas Jabbar High – Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s classic signature shoe from 1978. Revived by Team Trefoil in October, Fear of God’s version retains much of the crisp aesthetic that made the Jabbar beloved in the late 70s and 80s. Opting for a crisp green and white palette (which actually evokes the clean visuals of the ), Lorenzo’s face replaces Kareem Abdul-Jabbar – who was, up until very recently, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer with 38, 387 points.
We’re also expecting this one to occupy the top shelf at adidas given that the tongue reads ‘Made in Italy’. The line has become an important premium product in adi’s 2024 game plan, with prices more reflective of the high-end materials used.
There's currently no release details, but make sure to keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates. In the meantime, why not adi’s best footwear moments of an action-packed 2024.
