First Look: The League of Legends Pro League x Nike Dunk Low
The ongoing mashup between video games and sneakers continues to power-up the sneaker industry, collaborating with Sony for the ‘PlayStation 5’, while League of Legends tapped the Jumpman for the Zoom CMFT ‘League of Legends World Championship’ in 2020.
Back in 2019, Nike announced the partnership with League of Legends Pro League, a lucrative deal that would see the Swoosh outfitting professional eSports gamers in sneakers and apparel. We’ve now got our first look at the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) x Nike (somewhat of a follow-up to the Air Jordan 1), the collaboration scheduled to arrive later this year.
Rendered in subtle textures inspired by classic Chinese iconography, the LPL x Nike Dunk Low is emblazoned with iridescent Swooshes complete with glow-in-the-dark detailing on the Swoosh outline. Glow-in-the-dark highlights extend to the heel panels and outsole, while the red sockliner adds aesthetic hierarchy. Co-branded tongues announce the collaborative nature of the Dunk Low, and star embroidery on the lateral heels adds further character to the design.
