The Nike Air Max 90 ‘Laser’ Etches a Release Date
The is enjoying another strong year, with this latest rendition somewhat reminiscent of Mark Smith’s legendary Air Force 1 ‘Laser’ from 2003.
Dubbed the AM90 ‘Laser’, the design is composed in natural tones with intricately crafted patterns. Manufactured with a tattoo-like, laser print throughout the premium leather uppers, the latest AM90 breaks free from the current paradigm of Nike colourways – we have scarcely seen lasering in Nike’s recent line, after seeing it much more frequently in the mid-2000s.
Reimagining the Air Max 90 as a block of wood, the ‘Laser’ design carves out the legendary silhouette with laser precision. Hopefully heralding the arrival of more ‘Laser’ silhouettes, the AM90 features isotope-reminiscent shapes across the uppers, the colourway adopting a more conservative, spacious pattern on the mudguards. Notably, the design does not feature a tag numbering each model (like Mark Smith’s).
Look for the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Laser’ to release on June 2 via Nike SNKRS and selected retailers.
