First Look: Nike's Air Presto Goes Laceless in 2019

Nike Air Presto 2019

Even at the ripe old age of 18, remains one of the most comfortable sneakers on the market. As the saying goes, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' — but that doesn't mean there's not room for improvement. Instagram leaker  sneakonomist claims that Nike will be slugging the Presto with one of its biggest makeovers yet in 2019, backing its claim with imagery of a never-before-seen Presto model that is equal parts familiar and foreign.

The Presto's iconic toe cap, mid-foot cushioning and signature midsole dots are all present, but practically every element of the shoe has been redesigned. The sole unit is all new and a cursory glance at the inner lining suggests it is snugger-fitting than ever before. Backing this suggestion is a total lack of laces. Instead, this new Presto design features a heel strap and flexible mid-foot strapping to keep the foot locked in place.

2019 is still a long way away, so it will be some time before this new Nike Air Presto is officially confirmed — if at all. We'll keep you posted.
