Update July 14, 2023: After months of teasing, official images of the The Simpsons x adidas Stan Smith 'Homer Simpson' hit the web. The collaborative sneaker is expected to drop sometime in August via adidas' channels and at select retailers.

It’s not often that a sneaker mock-up from the community inspires a real-world design, but that appears to be exactly what happened with adi’s latest The Simpsons x Stan Smith collaboration. Shortly after Team Trefoil revealed the Simpsons x adidas Superstar ‘Marge’ last week, the internet was quick to mock-up various other characters, including the hilarious image of Homer receding into the hedge.

Now, it looks like the meme is becoming a sneaker reality, with the team from adidas switching the Superstar for a Stan Smith and shifting the grassy meme to the heel – where green Chenille sits. Homer’s name replaces the classic Stan Smith branding at the midfoot, with co-branded insoles and packaging emphasising the collaboration.

Elsewhere, Homer’s dumbfounded expression is seen on the tongue, replacing the legendary tennis player conventionally seen.
