Fumito Ganryu Unveils First PUMA Collaboration
Japanese designer Fumito Ganryu is an alumni of the wider universe who’s made a name for himself in avant garde fashion. He cut his teeth working directly under Rei Kawakubo at CDG until he decided to fly solo with his eponymous project, although he still remains part of the legendary Japanese fashion house albeit independently. In the sneaker scene, Ganryu is mostly known for his ongoing partnership with but he's now made a move from France to Germany to link with for the first time.
Looking to the recently resurrected , Ganryu has opted for a simple yet effective build. A two-tone suede upper has been added with a crisp black base, white Formstrip, and classic gold foil branding. However, the highlight of the model is the return of the legendary Disc tech from the Big Cat. An iconic piece of PUMA tech, the Disc originally surfaced in the early-90s and is made with internal wires that tighten the shoe.
Fumito Ganryu’s first-ever PUMA collaboration on the GV Special has been locked in to land on November 2 through select PUMA flagship locations.
