GALLERY DEPT. and Vault by Vans Are Dropping Five Rowley XLT LX Colourways
GALLERY DEPT. have been making their mark on the streetwear scene for quite some time now, but this year, they’ve really upped its game with their footwear too. After shocking the scene by dropping a $600 pair of earlier this year (an unofficial colab, that’s rumoured to be soon followed by an official one), the LA-based brand has also reconnected with , following up on the distressed-looking that released a few months ago.
This time around GALLERY DEPT. have chosen to exercise their creative freedom on the Vans Rowley XLT LX, giving Geoff Rowley's signature shoe a series of colourful makeovers. The puffy skate silhouette features oversized tongues, shortened vamps and bulky ankle collars that not only add extra comfort and support, but also provide playfully exaggerated proportions that help the colours to pop.
The collection consists of five colourways. The ‘Blue Steel’ pair combines hues of grey, blue, red and orange in line with GALLERY DEPT.’s signature brand colours, while a ‘Multi’ arrangement also adds green, yellow and purple to the mix. A ‘Neapolitan’ colourway is also on the cards, and unsurprisingly, this pair boasts a pale pink and brown make-up. Finally, the duo have also readied two patterned colourways: a 'Flame' pair which plays host to fire graphics, and a ‘Giraffe’ pair that features animal print overlays.
Now here’s where things get a little complicated, as the release info differs for each shoe. Each pair will be available to buy at from November 10, while both Vans.com and select Vault by Vans retailers across the globe will get their hands on the ‘Blue Steel’ and ‘Neapolitan’ pairs, too. Vans China will then release the ‘Giraffe’ pair for their Double 11 celebrations on November 11.
