Haven Apply Tactical Touches to First Converse Chuck 70 GORE-TEX Colab
It probably comes as a surprise to most that haven’t had a collaboration until now. The mil-spec influence and functional aesthetic of the Canadian boutique’s private label and select brands certainly lends itself to their tactical take on the reliable .
In typical Haven style, a smattering of upgrades elevates the heritage basketball sneaker into an urban liberator. Rain is a regular motif of Haven editorials, and they’ve come prepared for it with membranes for this colab (and many of their too). Furthermore, this Chuck 70 isn’t made from its usual heavyweight canvas; a mix of suede and full grain leather ensures a glove-like fit that’ll get even better with age. The leather forms a water-resistant mudguard around the midsole edge, wrapping up the eyestays and heel counter for extra protection. Durability is also beefed up with a slightly extended thickness outsole, and XL-sized woven heel pull tabs for ease of entry. Inside, insoles increase the cushioning capabilities over standard-issue Chucks. Like most Haven co-signs, they keep their own branding understated, and simply place their logo on the left heel’s ‘license plate’.
The Haven x Converse Chuck 70 GORE-TEX releases exclusively via Haven on November 14. Two colours will be available: classic black, and a very stealthy ‘Night Forest’ olive.
