adidas Celebrate HBCU Legacy with Swish Crazy 8 Five-Pack

The hoops division are scoring nothing but net of late. Galvanised by their omnipotent posterboy the team at adidas basketball are diving deep into the archive to excavate some old school classics, including the fan favourite – formerly known as KB8.

Their latest project involves a five-pack of Crazy 8 sneakers, each paying homage to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs): Alabama State, Alcorn State, Grambling State, Prairie View A&M, and Arkansas Pine Bluff. HBCUs were founded with the primary goal of serving the African American community. Created before the Civil Rights Act of 1964, they were crucial in offering higher education to Black Americans at a time when segregation and racial discrimination barred them from attending many other colleges and universities.

Returning just in time for Homecoming season, this collection showcases bold colourways and graphic designs that celebrate the aesthetics and cultural heritage of each school. Each model is adorned with school logos, patterns, and unique design elements that highlight the rich history of these institutions. All of the designs are manufactured with a combination of smooth leather and mesh uppers, while shiny patent leather emblazons the Three Stripes.
