HUNDRED% and SneakerLAH Join Forces With ASICS on the GEL-Lyte III

Malaysia’s biggest sneaker event, SneakerLAH, and one of the country’s biggest multi-brand retail stores, HUNDRED%, have joined forces with ASICS once again, this time for a GEL-Lyte III that’s been inspired by Kuala Lumpur’s Petronas Towers. Making an epic return from collaborating on the GEL-Kayano 5 last year, the trio have decided to help celebrate a major sneaker anniversary: the GEL-Lyte III’s 30th birthday.

Trying to create a one-for-one replica of the Petronas Twin Towers, which held the record for the tallest building in the world from 1998 to 2004, the design infuses some of the most key details of the spectacular construction into the classic crep. Starting with the bulk of the upper, the collaborative trio have delivered a shiny metallic silver finish to replicate the overall aesthetic of the building. Iridescent Tiger Stripes lay along each side to represent the reflection that many of the windows give off at different times of the day. Meanwhile, a speckled midsole down below draws inspiration from the raindrops that fall on the window, and the icy green outsole duplicates the tint of the glass. It seems they really did think of everything! Finishing off the silhouette is the word ‘Lah’ scripted on the heel.

Keen for a pair? Well, the SneakerLAH x HUNDRED% x ASICS GEL-Lyte III will be available in limited edition packaging to Malaysians via a raffle on SneakerLAH’s webstore starting on December 3. Before a global release takes place on December 19.
