J. Cole’s Latest PUMA RS-Dreamer ‘E-Line’ Honours an Important MTA Route
Despite having announced its successor at the beginning of the year, is still releasing more colourways of his inaugural signature basketball shoe. It appears the rapper-slash-basketballer has no shortage of inspiration for both his musical and footwear drops, with increasingly personal references in his work. This blue RS-Dreamer colourway is based on the E-Line that runs between Queens and Manhattan on the MTA subway system in New York – a place very dear to J. Cole.
The colourway may be new, but the RS-Dreamer design should be a familiar sight as it prominently featured in PUMA’s performance basketball offering last year. Suede overlaid on mesh remains a reliable upper combination, allowing for an optimal mix of support and breathability. This base allows external anchor points for a second lockdown strip, which in the case of the ‘E-Line’ is tonal dark blue. In fact, most of the colourway is monochromatic, save for lighter aqua on the forefoot panel and midsole Formstripe. This midsole, by the way, hides a mixture of PUMA RS foam and ProFoam compounds for responsive cushioning, which is then paired to a low-profile outsole with a tread pattern inspired by feathers.
The PUMA RS-Dreamer ‘E-Line’ is available now directly from PUMA.
