J. Cole’s PUMA RS-Dreamer ‘Aquarius’ Suits all Star Signs
Rapper has put in a sheer amount of hard work to make it both in the music and basketball worlds. It seems he devotes as much time into his court game as his lyrics, and he’s recently proved it with a brief stint in the Basketball Africa League. His signature sneaker with was designed for just that: dreamers. While its second generation update is already in the market, there’s still some mileage yet for the original, as a new ‘Aquarius’ colourway is due for release.
Unlike the very red release that has been one of his most successful sneakers to date, the ‘Aquarius’ goes off in a cooler direction. Inspired by astrology and New York’s Times Square, vibrant blue mesh uppers meet stark black mudguards and midsoles, which act to obscure some of the more technical aspects found on the RS-Dreamer. For example, there’s an ankle lockdown system that connects into a more conventional lacing arrangement. While the blacked-out midsoles hide a mix of PUMA RS foam and ProFoam, blended to provide the optimum cushioning and responsiveness. The outsoles are equally subdued in tonal black rubber.
The J. Cole-backed RS-Dreamer ‘Aquarius’ releases on July 7 from PUMA.
