The Latest Jacquemus x Nike Colab References the 1972 ‘Moon Shoe’
The collaboration between and has been nothing short of quirky, with the duo making a note to join forces on a yearly basis since 2022. There’s no doubt that the French luxury house knows their sneakers, having dipped into the archives before and pulling out niche references and under appreciated models. This time though, Jacquemus went deeper into the annals of Swoosh history, pulling out a 1972 relic: the ‘Moon Shoe’.
Jacquemus presented their Fall/Winter 2025 collection last month, offering the first look at their upcoming work with Nike. The shoes shown were the brand’s take on the ‘Moon Shoe’ and were given the moniker ‘Jacumoon’ for this link-up. Reports have since emerged stating that the sneakers will come in ‘Off-Noir’, ‘Alabaster’ and ‘University Red’ colourways alongside a 20-piece apparel collection.
Nike’s 1972 ‘Moon Shoe’ is a certified piece of the brand’s storied past, and only a small handful are known to exist. This running model was crafted and designed by none other than and got its lunar-inspired name from the waffle pattern that replicated the tracks left in 1969 by the astronauts from the first Moon landing. Each pair of the ‘Moon Shoes’ are hand cobbled, made up of a two-piece waffle outsoles, white nylon upper and sewed-on Swooshes. It’s been said that these models were crafted for the 1972 trials, with only 12 pairs in existence. A DS pair (pictured below) in size US 12.5 back in 2019 for $437,500.

So far, Jacquemus and Nike haven’t confirmed when their ‘Jacumoon’ sneakers will be dropping, but stay locked to Sneaker Freaker to keep updated.
