Update October 19, 2022: The release for Jess Gonsalves’ ASICS GEL-Nimbus 9 is drawing closer! Ahead of the drop, she’s shared a fresh look at the pairs. Check it out below.

ASICS first announced their collaboration-focused lifestyle initiative ASICS Collective last year. The group features five collaborators, including Awake NY’s Angelo Baque, Denim Tears founder Tremaine Emory, Born x Raised founder Chris ‘Spanto’ Printup, Bronx-based photographer Renell Medrano and Procell’s Jessica Gonsalves.

Gonsalves is the latest of the group to share their collaboration, selecting ASICS’ recently revived GEL-Nimbus 9 archival silhouette. Gonsalves, drawing inspiration from the seaside, looked to the pearlescent lustre of the mother-of-pearl for its colourway, as made obvious in her moodboard posted to IG. Overall, layered mesh and synthetic leather in whites and creams bring a refreshing look to the model, which has so far been seen in many silver, techy iterations. Inside, Gonsalves’ name can be found printed on the insoles.

Gonsalves said about the collaboration, ‘I am honored to have the opportunity to work with such an iconic brand like ASICS. This shoe represents the vision and inspiration I hoped to share when I learned I would be designing my first shoe collaboration.’

Keen to cop? The Jessica Gonsalves x ASICS GEL-Nimbus 9 is set for an exclusive release at Procell’s NYC store on October 22. A global release is expected to land on October 28.
