JJJJound Rework Danner’s Feather Light and Mountain Light Boots

Having already applied a deft touch to a number of sneakers over the years, Justin Saunders of JJJJound fame now turns his attention to boots from OG Oregon brand Danner.

Consisting of the Feather Light and Mountain Light models, these iconic boots from the Danner heritage collection undergo the minimalist stylings of JJJJound. The former is a stripped-back take on hiking boots, which carves out the suede upper, filling the gaps with green waxed canvas. Its outsoles are Sierra units provided by Vibram. As they are stitched to the uppers, they can also be replaced once worn out, though it’ll be a long while before that happens.

Joining this pair is the Mountain Light, an absolute classic in the hiking boot world. Part of its distinct design is the one-piece suede upper, which keeps out any excess baggage picked up out on the trail and streets. This protection is furthered by GORE-TEX lining – in fact, Danner was the first company to use the waterproof-breathable membrane in a pair of shoes! Like the Feather Light, it is finished with replaceable Vibram Sierra soles and metal hardware.
