Kasina Celebrate Their 25th Anniversary With the Nike Air Max 1

Update May 24, 2022: Following the unveiling and release announcement, official imagery of the Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 collection has surfaced! This may be the best look yet at the upcoming duo, showing off the wide array of subtle detailing. Stay locked for the June 4 release date.

South Korean streetwear pioneers Kasina first opened their doors in 1997 and 25 years later are still running the show! Over the years, they’ve embarked on a slew of sneaker collaborations with the likes of PUMA, Reebok and most recently Nike. In 2020 they flew across the pond to rework a pack of Dunks inspired by Seoul’s vintage buses from the 1980s. For their latest, Kasina has looked to the sentiments of the Won-Ang duck AKA Mandarin ducks for a two-pack of Air Max 1s.

You may have already seen both these colourways as the tonal grey and colourful orange and blue pair have been leaked via a slew of sources. The Won-Ang duck is a carving set traditionally seen at Korean weddings and sometimes given as a gift. Both of these pairs have been injected with a slew of details such as custom wooden dubraes, duck swing tag and specialised logo detailing. Housed in a special box, the materials are next level! Boasting a mix of pony hair, luxe suede and premium leather.

Now, for the all important release details! Both colourways of the Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 will release via the brand’s web store on June 4 with a SNKRS drop on June 8. A wider global release is unconfirmed but we’re assuming it’ll occur the same time as the SNKRS roll out.
