ASICS have well and truly started 2024 off on the right foot, as the brand has already lined up collaborations with HIDDEN.NY, Paperboy Paris and BEAMS and HAL STUDIOS. If that wasn’t already enough, they now continue to lead the pack with the reveal of their upcoming colab with Kenzo.

Blending the worlds of high fashion and sportstyle, the KENZO x ASICS collection is a maximalist masterpiece. The colab brings back the GEL-Kayano 20, which debuted in 2013 as a commemorative anniversary model for the famed line. Having been retired for several years, it follows in the steps of the GEL-Kayano 14, which has once again become a fan-favourite sneaker after being pulled out from the archives just a couple of years ago. Here, under the creative direction of NIGO, KENZO present the GEL-Kayano 20 in three new colourways. There are two brightly coloured versions and one more subdued option, but each pair is equally worthy of a spot in anyone’s rotation.

Two of the pairs call back to Kenzo’s logo via tiger-striped uppers. One of these takes on a blue/green gradient and features multiple multi-coloured accents across the sole and overlays, while the other opts for tonal white, grey and silver, as well as gold accents on the sole and lateral ASICS branding. The third pair takes on a slightly different look, and features a selection of bold primary and secondary colours, laid out in geometric patterns. Each style boasts mismatched tongue tabs that deliver co-branding hits.
