Kevin Durant’s Nike KD 15 is Ready to Score Buckets
While and the Brooklyn Nets bundled out of the playoffs in 2021-22, sneakerheads have still been anxiously awaiting the KD 15, the upcoming signature shoe scheduled to land later this month.
While a few colourways of KD’s fifteenth signature shoe have appeared online (including an eye-catching Valentine’s Day-inspired edition), Nike have finally shared official release details alongside the launch colourway.
In the engine room, full-length Cushlon foam plus a visible Air Zoom Strobel unit provides dual support, while reduced layering on the uppers removes unnecessary heaviness and imbues the silhouette with a broken-in feel.
The outsole takes design cues from a topographical map, with the contoured ridges distributing impact across the outsoles. The words ‘EASY’ are molded into the rubber, an allusion to Kevin Durant’s effortlessly scoring capacity and his online pseudonym, Easy Money Sniper.
In terms of lacing, the KD 15 utilises the floating wings on the sides, so when the laces are tightened, the wings pull down to hold your feet in place.
