Kiko Kostadinov Designs Three Colourful ASICS UB9-S GEL-Kayano 20s

Back in 2022 when was coming in hot with a plethora of retros and lifestyle-geared heaters, we wrote . Clearly they were reading and taking notes, because the fan-favourite has made a welcomed return to shelves. So far, we’ve only seen the GEL-injected beast arrive as part of the wallet-destroying , but two more colourways are now on the horizon. This duo has emerged from retailer , and they both exude the design language of the studio.

Kostadinov, the Bulgarian-born, British designer and notorious ASICS collaborator, decided to make a recent move in-house at the Japanese brand to consult on colour palettes and various designs. There are a multitude of models his studio has helped ASICS resurrect, including the . You can tell whenever he’s had a hand in crafting models and colourways, with the signature lace loop added to the tongue. Both colourways of the KAYANO 20 host this design detail and are riddled with Kostadinov vibes.

These fresh colourways are dressed in period-correct outfits, hosting 2010-style uppers with soft mesh base layers and synthetic overlays. The most accessible iteration of the bunch goes for a mostly two-tone build, with silver and grey base layer further accentuated with tones of red and brown GEL units. Another eye-catching combo has also been created that hosts a yellow and blue, bolstered with crisp black hues on the GEL midsole.

A release date is yet to be announced for these ASICS GEL-Kayano 20s as of yet, but stay locked as we suspect a drop is imminent.
