Kiko Kostadinov Has Created a Celebratory ASICS GEL-Glidelyte III

Many sneaker anniversaries are being celebrated this year, with one of them being the ASICS GEL-Lyte III. Plenty of special models have already hit shelves to note the occasion, with the next being from Bulgarian designer Kiko Kostadinov. This came as a little surprise, because we thought that the collaboration had ended – and that Kiko was making a move towards consulting for the brand instead. Maybe this GEL-Glidelyte III will be their last? We’ll have to wait and see.

Taking a look at the new special edition silhouette, which is a hybrid of the fan-favourite GEL-Lyte III, the influence is clear with the shape and split-tongue. They also mixed in elements of the iconic ASICS Glideride, whose claim to fame is its curved GUIDESOLE that allows runners to save their energy. Elements of the GEL-Nimbus 5 can also be seen in the design of the upper.

Two colourways of the silhouette have surfaced, one in back with red and grey accents, while the other boasts a red tonal look that includes pops of grey throughout. Which one do you prefer?
